Sustainable Development ... A commitment to future generations

In promoting a sustainable development, we seek balanced actions, measured by appropriate indicators, between the three legs of sustainable development: i.e. by

– Implementing rehabilitation programmes, in our operating sites -sometimes for more than a century in operations-, in order to minimize the impact on the Environment, and so, to avoid to leave, for future generations, a difficult legacy of potentially unresolved issues

– Promoting the application of integrated management systems, in order to meet high quality standards in our process operations –all following IPPC recommendations-

– Minimizing valuable resources - Energy and Primary raw materials- ,
by providing access, in our processes, for recycled streams of Zinc-bearing materials

– Favouring mutual information and discussion with workers and neighbours, aiming at a better understanding and streamlining of our activities

– Promoting innovation and developing products, adapted to our customers needs, taking into account the benefits but also the potential environmental impacts, over their full life-cycle, of our products (LCI / LCA / LCIA)

– Acting, directly or through professional associations, on the practical implementation of new product regulations:

• Risk Assessment of Zinc and its compounds

• Classification

• REACH

• Feed additives regulation
